Welcome one and all! I’m Christian—a passionate photographer, creative thinker, and travel enthusiast who has mostly left behind the traditional 9-to-5 grind for a life on the road. Since 2022, I’ve been traveling the world as much as possible, discovering inspiring destinations, broadening my creativity, and learning as much as I can about what makes our world such an amazing place to live.

More Than Just a Vacation

My Kind of travel experience isn’t JUST about lounging on a beach with a Mai Tai in hand (though it can definitely be a part of the experience)— it’s about getting lost in city streets in search of a restaurant filled with locals, navigating the daily routines that we take for granted, and embracing the unexpected adventures that come with life on the road. Long-term travel isn’t all highlights and Instagram-worthy moments; whether you are figuring out how to buy local groceries, renting a condo or paying a utility bill it’s about embracing the ups and downs of the journey, just like life at home—but with more frequent bursts of excitement and intrigue.

Like many, I’ve spent countless hours watching Anthony Bourdain and other travel legends share meals and experiences, thinking, “I could do that too.” But the truth? I bought a blog name and set out for my adventure, never really sitting down to make this a reality for myself. Now, almost a year later and thousands of miles traveled, I’m finally sitting down to share these experiences.

More Truth? After many awkward experiences and moments of self doubt, cultural misunderstandings, and clumsy conversations I came to acknowledge that it’s not always as easy as your favorite IG influencer would lead you to believe. I kept trying to replicate THEIR experiences and THEIR style to grab your attention but it never truly resonated with me.

To me, the beauty of travel and then sharing that experience lies in the raw, unpolished moments.  The days or sometimes weeks of learning to navigate these new experiences until one day, one moment where the lightbulb appears over your head. For me, that lightbulb moment came recently after a five month stint traveling through Germany with some friends, living in Bangkok as a local for three months and then a fantastic (but also not) six weeks in Viet Nam. I know in my heart that life abroad, or at least on the road is what I want for myself, but it becomes unsustainable to push through it without some sort of attempts at finding solid ground.

The world is vast and beautiful and experiencing life on the far side of the planet comes with it’s own challenges and these hit me hard at times. Living a life less than ordinary, scrolling through videos and articles about how to “Have the BEST Experience” possible are often glossing over the fact that once your hedonic adaptation kicks in you may find yourself scrolling through your phone at 3am looking for the next flight home. So find myself back in the suburbs of Pennsylvania, visiting my family for the holidays and gathering my thoughts on how to create this reality I see for myself.

I may not be able to (or even want to) explore every corner of this world but there is something inside all of us (there is in me at least) that is fascinated by the world we live in and how we can learn from the experiences of those who push the boundaries of what we can experience.

My promise to you the reader (and hopefully viewer once I actually get around starting a youtube page) is to offer insightful travel advice and inspirational stories and experiences that showcase the un-fluffed realities of life on the road. Whether you’re seeking travel ideas, a new perspective, or vicariously satiating your wanderlust, I hope that Knowhere Bound can, over time, grow to become a guide to a life of fulfillment, adventure, and hopefully a little know-how.
